Wildcats kickoff spring football drills Monday

POPLARVILLE   Pearl River Community College will kickoff four weeks of spring
football drills Monday with 29 players participating in the annual workouts.
PRCC head coach Keith Daniels said the drills should conclude prior to the March 6-10
spring break, but he is leaving the door open for some possible additional work following the
week's vacation.
The workouts were initially scheduled to start this past Tuesday, but personal matters
caused Daniels to be out of town for two days and they were moved up until February 14.
"Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we'll get in four solid weeks of work," said
Daniels, whose Wildcats finished 3-7 last season. "Our guys are ready to get started on next
season and we've got a lot of hard work ahead of us."
He said five walk-on players have arrived on campus and will participate in the drills,
including quarterback Terrion Reynolds of Brundidge, Ala., who hails from the same town as
former Wildcat All-Region, All-State defensive lineman Cornelius Griffin.
"From our film evaluation, Terrion was impressive," Daniels said. "He has good height
and throws well. With his size (6-1, 180), we should have more dimension at the quarterback
position next season."
Reynolds prepped at Pike County, Griffin's old high school. After leaving Pearl River,
Griffin started the past two years on the defensive front for the Alabama Crimson Tide and was
elected a team captain this past seasons. He is expected to be selected in the upcoming NFL draft.
Daniels enters his sixth season with the Wildcats this fall.
