Wednesday, March 1, 2000 Pearl River splits with Hinds Lady Wildcats lose 5-4; Wildcats drop Eagles 7-2 in Raymond      RAYMOND   Pearl River Community College's Wildcats and Lady Wildcats split with Hinds here Tuesday in South Division tennis action.      PRCC's men improved to 7-2 overall with a 7-2 victory, while the women dropped to 2-3 overall with a 5-4 loss.      In men's singles, Jeff Rose (PR) defeated Jones (HCC) 7-6 (5), 6-2; Robert Brumfield (PR) defeated Preziosi (HCC) 6-4, 5-7, 6-1; Joey Sumrall (PR) defeated Mayfield (HCC) 6-1, 6- 2; Rush (HCC) defeated Kevin Goldsmith (PR) 6-0, 6-4; Mark Hancock (PR) defeated Poyner (HCC) 6-1, 6-2; and Kevin Rhudy (PR) defeated Whittington (HCC) 6-0, 6-3;      In men's doubles, Jones-Mayfield (HCC) defeated Rose-Matt Nunnally (PR) 8-5, Sumrall- Hancock (PR) defeated Preziosi-Rush (HCC) 8-3, and Rhudy-Williams (PR) defeated Poyner- Whittington (HCC) 8-0.      In women's singles, Schwartz (HCC) defeated Pamela Miller (PR) 6-1, 7-5; Nicole Shepherd (PR) defeated Biard (HCC) 2-6, 6-1, 6-4; Ilene McCombs (PR) defeated Mellon (HCC) 6-7 (2), 7-5, 6-4; Rimes (HCC) defeated Michelle Creely (PR) 6-4, 6-0; Briggs (HCC) defeated Lori Flynt (PR) 6-3, 6-3; and Singleton (HCC) defeated Amanda Anderson (PR) 7-5, 6-0.      In doubles action, McCombs-Miller (PR) defeated Schwartz-Biard (HCC) 8-7 (4), Mellon-Rimes (HCC) defeated Shepherd-Flynt (PR) 8-7 (6), and Anderson-Creely (PR) defeated Briggs-Singleton (HCC) 8-3.      Pearl River hits the road Thursday for Ellisville to take on Jones at 2 p.m., then returns to action following the 2000 spring break with another road match-up against East Central in Decatur beginning at 1 p.m.
