Thursday, March 3, 2000 Jones sweeps Pearl River in tennis action      ELLISVILLE   Pearl River Community College was swept by Jones here Thursday in men's and women's South Division tennis action.      The Wildcats were defeated 5-4 and fell to 3-2 overall, while the Lady Wildcats fell 6-3 and stand at 2-4 overall.      In men's singles, Jeff Rose (PRCC) defeated Kevin Todd (JCJC) 6-4, 6-4; Joey Sumrall (PRCC) defeated Shane Welch (JCJC) 5-7, 6-3, 6-3; Robert Brumfield (PRCC) defeated Josh McIntyre (JCJC) 6-2, 2-6, 6-2; Trey Crumpton (JCJC) defeated Matt Nunnally (PRCC) 7-6 (5), 6-4; Matt Pierce (JCJC) defeated Kyle Williams (PRCC) 6-0, 6-2; and Jim Stennett (JCJC) defeated Kevin Rhudy (PRCC) 6-0, 6-2.      In men's doubles, Rose-Nunnally (PRCC) defeated McIntyre-Crumpton (JCJC) 9-7, Welch-Todd (JCJC) defeated Sumrall-Mark Hancock (PRCC) 9-8 (4), and Pierce-Stennett (JCJC) defeated Rhudy-Kevin Goldsmith 9-7.      In women's singles, Nichole Shepherd (PRCC) defeated Missy Davis (JCJC) 6-0, 6-3; Pamela Miller (PRCC) defeated Tara Rogers (JCJC) 6-4, 6-0; Courtney Casey (JCJC) defeated Ilene McCombs (PRCC) 4-6, 6-2, 7-5; Amy Mosley (JCJC) defeated Lori Flynt (PRCC) 6-1, 6-0; Melissa Allred (JCJC) defeated Michelle Creely (PRCC) 7-5, 0-6, 6-3; and Kristi Jefcoat (JCJC) defeated Amanda Anderson (PRCC) 6-1, 6-0.      In women's doubles, Miller-McCombs (PRCC) defeated Davis Casey (JCJC) 8-3, Rogers- Jefcoat (JCJC) defeated Shepherd-Flynt (PRCC) 9-7, and Allred-Christy Boney (JCJC) defeated Creely-Anderson (PRCC) 8-2.      Pearl River takes a week off for the 2000 spring break, then returns to action Thursday, March 16, with a South Division road trip to East Central in Decatur starting at 1 p.m. Friday, March 17, Northeast visits PRCC for 2 p.m. matches, then Saturday, March 18, PRCC plays Itawamba on the Jones campus in Ellisville starting at 9 a.m.
