POPLARVILLE - Orientation and early registration for new students planning to attend classes on the Poplarville campus of Pearl River Community College the 2004 fall semester is set for July 20-23 on the PRCC campus.
By participating in the orientation and early registration sessions, new students can receive their class schedules for the coming fall term, learn about campus life and opportunities, meet other students and talk with administrators, faculty and staff, as well as advisors in their area of study.
Students must have an admission application, ACT scores (academic and technical students), high school transcript, and financial aid forms (if applicable) on file with the college in order to attend the session.
Orientation sessions for July 20-21 (Tuesday and Wednesday) are already closed, but openings remain for the July 22-23 (Thursday and Friday) sessions.
All students who pre-register for orientation will receive a confirmation post card with session date and time.
Doors open in the Student Center at 8 a.m. for the 8:30 a.m. session and 12:30 p.m. for the 1 p.m. session. A general assembly will be held, followed by registration and orientation.
Cost is $25 per student, which will include a student calendar and a T-shirt. Tuition and other college fees may be paid during orientation or they can be paid in the fall.
Parent sessions will be offered during the morning session, July 20-22, and July 27. The cost is $10.
“Our primary focus is to put students first,” said Dr. Barbara Gandy, PRCC’s Director of Recruitment and Orientation. “The orientation process is designed to open our doors and hopefully make students feel comfortable as they begin their college careers.”
A separate orientation session has also been scheduled for Tuesday, July 27, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Forrest County Center in Hattiesburg. The center is
