PRCC’s Museum extends hours

     POPLARVILLE— Pearl River Community College’s Museum has extended its
hours it is open. The new hours are from 9-11 a.m. and from 1-4 p.m., Monday 
through Friday.
    The museum, established in 2001, is the first community college museum in the state. It is also the only college-run museum south of Starkville. Pearl River Community College, founded in 1909, is the state’s oldest public two-year community college and ranks as the 16th oldest public community college in the nation.
    The museum primarily features artifacts from the college with plans in the near future to include artifacts from the college’s six-county supporting district of Hancock, Forrest, Jefferson Davis, Lamar, Marion, and Pearl River counties.
    The museum is located in Hancock Hall on the Poplarville campus. The public is invited to visit.  Admission is free. For more information call 601-403-1316, or visit the museum’s site on the Internet at: www.prcc.edu/musuem/.
