PRCC offering computer skills training

     HATTIESBURG - Pearl River Community College is offering several computer skills training classes this summer at the Lowery Woodall Advanced Technology Center in the Hattiesburg Industrial Park.
      "We offer short term computer skills training for the general public as well as business and industry," said Scott Alsobrooks, Director of Workforce Education for PRCC. "Classes can be scheduled to meet the needs of five or more on an ‘as needed’ basis. These classes are funded with state appropriated funds provided through the State Board for Community and Junior Colleges."
      Classes are scheduled for Tuesday nights from 5-8 p.m. You must pre-register for the class. The fee is $25. Dates are subject to change. For more information, contact Lindsey Miller at 601-554-4646 or email her at lmiller@prcc.edu

The classes include:

  • Word Level 1: July 22, 29, Aug. 5. This course teaches the basic features and functions of
    Microsoft Word. Students will learn how to use Word’s powerful formatting capabilities while
    learning to create letters, memos, reports and flyers.
  • Excel Level 1: Aug. 12, 19, 26, Sept. 2. This course teaches basic skills with Microsoft’s popular
    spreadsheet program.
  • PowerPoint Level 1: Sept. 9, 16, 23, 30. This is a presentation graphics program that allow you
    to easily develop dynamic presentations. This course starts with creating a slide show, applying
    slide transitions, adding graphic objects, set up and customizing a slide show, and printing
    handouts, slides and notes.
