PRCC honors top students at Forrest County Center

     HATTIESBURG _ Three Hattiesburg students took top awards at the Forrest County Center of Pearl River Community College during the annual Awards Day held Monday.
      Heather Jenkins and Jerome Clincy, both of Hattiesburg, received the Citizenship Awards from counselors Dr. Joe Wesley and Debra Hewitt.
      Jenkins is a dental hygiene student and Clincy is majoring in office systems technology.
      The Academic Excellence award went to Rebecca Grace, also of Hattiesburg, who has maintained a 3.87 grade point average.
      Dr. William Lewis, PRCC president, congratulated the students who received awards and encouraged them to tell others of their successes.
      “We’re very proud that you chose Pearl River Community College to be your college,” he said. “We hope that this college has served you well. Help us spread the good word about the low_ cost, high_quality education that’s available here.”
      Awards Day ceremonies were followed by a crawfish boil for the students, staff and faculty. About 1,500 students attend classes at the Forrest County Center.

· Crystal Young of Hattiesburg, dental assisting.
· Andrea Pierce of Picayune, dental hygiene.
· Charles Hennis of Sumrall, electronics technology.
· Joshua Stevison of Hattiesburg, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration.
· Roxanne Noel of Poplarville, medical laboratory technology.
· Krista Gaude of Carriere, medical radiologic technology.
· Janice Karas of Hattiesburg, occupational therapy assistant.
· Reva West of Sumrall, office systems technology.
· David Moore of Hattiesburg, practical nursing.
· Mary Paige Saliba Harrison of Hattiesburg, physical therapist assistant.
· Becky Stephens of Petal, respiratory care practitioner.
· Kimberly Martin of Seminary, surgical technology.
· Neil Braun of Carriere, welding.
· Jessica Touchstone of Hattiesburg, anatomy and physiology/microbiology.
· Lauren Jackson of Purvis, biology.
· Doreen Ryals of Lumberton, chemistry.
· Fernanda Blackmer of Hattiesburg, communications.
· Shawna Sewell of Hattiesburg, developmental studies.
· Katherine Feigel of Hattiesburg, English.
· Whitney Nelson of Hattiesburg, math.
· Eddie Griffin of Petal, social studies.
