Orientation set for new PRCC students

POPLARVILLE - New students at Pearl River Community College should receive notification early next month about orientation for the 2009-10 academic year.
Orientation confirmation cards are to be mailed at the end of June to students who have applied for admission to the college and/or have paid the $25 orientation fee, said Dr. Barbara Gandy, director of recruitment and orientation.
The orientation sessions will educate incoming students about class registration, housing, the Wildcat Web network and how to be a successful PRCC student, she said. There will be separate sessions for parents. Fee for the parent session is $5.
High school seniors who attended the early orientation in April are not required to participate in a summer session, Gandy said.
Poplarville campus students who have applied for orientation will be given a reservation time for a morning session on July 14, 15 or 16. Those who have not applied can attend afternoon sessions on July 14 or 15.
The Poplarville sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the nursing building.
Forrest County Center students who applied for orientation will notified of reservations for the 8:30 a.m. session on July 22. Those without reservations can attend the 12:30 p.m. session on July 22. Forrest County Center orientation will be in the multi purpose room in Building 5 on the Hattiesburg campus.
Orientation at the Hancock Center in Waveland will be at 9 a.m. Aug. 6.
For reservations or to apply for orientation, telephone 601 403-1197 or go to the PRCC Web site at www.prcc.edu.
