PRCC Alumni sponsor Christmas Extravaganza

POPLARVILLE - The Pearl River Community College Alumni Association will host a Christmas Extravaganza fundraiser on Thursday, Dec. 10.
The event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at Blue Jack Ridge, home of the MS Corn Maze north of Poplarville.
Tickets are $10 per person or $50 for a group of six. Children age 2 and under are free.
The ticket includes the "Journey of the Wise" Christmas light tour, a ride on Santa’s Pony Express, visits to Santa’s Live Petting Zoo and an authentic Western Town and Kid’s Corral, caroling, live nativity scene and a visit with Santa Claus and his elves.
Admission also includes the opportunity to bid on a cake and taste entries in the Holiday Chili Cook-Off.
Organizations or individuals who would like to donate a cake or enter the cook-off should telephone Candace Harper, PRCC alumni coordinator, at 601 403-1193. A panel of five judges will award first and second place prizes to the best chili cooks, she said.
"After the judges taste all the chili, we’ll give the rest to whoever comes to the fundraiser," she said.
Proceeds from the Christmas Extravaganza will go to scholarships for PRCC students, Harper said.
Supporters attending the Extravaganza will also have the opportunity to buy family Christmas portraits with "Kaptions by Kristi," starting at $35; pictures with Santa, starting at $20; merchandise in the General Store; and refreshments, including soft drinks, hot chocolate, kettle corn and candy.
To avoid waiting in line, Harper encourages PRCC supporters to order their tickets in advance at www.mscornmaze.com. Directions to Blue Jack Ridge can be found at the Web site.

For more information, telephone Harper at 601 403-1193.
