Pearl River's Scott Roberts receives full-tuition scholarship to the University of Michigan

  POPLARVILLE - Pearl River Community College sophomore Scott Roberts, a
1998 graduate of West Marion High School, has received the Ruth Lobdell Scholarship
to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
  The two-year full tuition, and out of state tuition scholarship, also includes a
$1,000 per semester living allowance. Total value of the scholarship to Roberts is

Pearl River College telephone numbers changing to 403 prefix

     POPLARVILLE - Pearl River Community College telephone numbers are changing to a
"403" prefix on January 1.
     According to Steve Howard, director of PRCC's computer services, there are only 10
numbers with the 795 Poplarville prefix left for expansion...more

     POPLARVILLE - Pearl River Community College officials, including President Ted J.
Alexander, took part in the 104th  annual meeting of the Southern Association of Colleges and
Schools (SACS) in Atlanta last week.

Okaloosa-Walton Sweeps Pearl River
Wildcats, Lady Wildcats close-out pre-Christmas schedule with road losses

     NICEVILLE, Fla.   Pearl River Community College closed-out its pre-Christmas portion
of its women's and men's basketball schedule with a pair of losses to Okaloosa-Walton here
Tuesday.
     The Lady Wildcats fell 79-51 and dropped to 2-9 overall, while the Wildcats were
defeated 100-56 and fell to 6-5 overall. Okaloosa-Walton also swept PRCC on November 9

     Since Pearl River Community College President Ted J. Alexander announced his
retirement in September the PRCC Board of Trustees has been busy organizing its search for a

Jones sweeps Pearl River in South Division match-ups
Wildcats drop to 6-4, 1-2; Lady Wildcats 2-8, 1-2 with road losses in Ellisville

     ELLISVILLE   Jones County Junior College swept arch-rival Pearl River in men's and
women's South Division basketball action here Thursday.
     The Lady Wildcats fell to the Lady Bobcats 70-66 to drop to 2-8 overall, 1-2 in division
play; while the Wildcats blew a three-point lead at the half to fall 88-83 and fall to 6-4 and 1-2.
