Bombs Bevill State 92-59, NW-Shoals 80-71 To Improve To 3-1

     PERKINSTON   Pearl River's Wildcats are now 3-1 following their sweep in the Gulf
Coast Classic Monday and Tuesday here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
campus.

Romp Over River
Eagles To Host Itawamba In Playoffs Next Week;
Wildcats Finish 3-7, 1-5

     RAYMOND   The Hinds Eagles wrapped-up their 1999 regular season in grand style
here Thursday, blasting rival Pearl River 50-6 to clinch the 1999 MACJC South Division title.
     The nationally-ranked Eagles, who finished 9-1 overall and 5-1 in division play, will play
Itawamba, the North's No. 2 finisher, next Saturday in Raymond in the first round of the
MACJC's new four-team playoff set-up (North's No. 1 plays the South's No. 2 and vice-versa).
Itawamba, 6-4 and 4-2, was upset by East Mississippi 35-3 in Scooba Saturday to wrap-up its

Mathis Says Lady Wildcats Played Well
Despite Losing Two In Northeast Tipoff

     POPLARVILLE   Richard Mathis says his first Pearl River Community College Lady
Wildcat basketball team "played well" in the Northeast Mississippi Tip-Off Classic in Booneville
this week, despite losing 74-68 to Roane State and 73-57 to host Northeast.
     "We didn't win, but I feel pretty good after seeing how we performed under fire," said

says Hinds may not be as talented as it has been in its past years of glory, but the Eagles are
