2013 MACJC All-Star games set March 28 at East Central

            DECATUR — Mississippi’s top community and junior college basketball players will have an opportunity to showcase their talents at the annual MACJC All-Star Basketball Games (women and men) set for Thursday, March 28, here at East Central Community College.
            Women’s action begins at 6 p.m., while the men’s contest is set for 8 p.m. in the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building on the ECCC campus.
            Admission is $5 per person for the NJCAA-sanctioned event.
            Both games will also be live-streamed on the Holmes Community College web site (
            Members of the South Division women’s team include Vintrice Briggs, Chanta Poole and Lavasha Allen, all of Copiah-Lincoln; Jaianah Matthew, Xzandra Dowd and Jakela Johnson, all of East Central; Vandria Dampier of Hinds, Shamekia Hart, Markia Nix and Presley Owens, all of Mississippi Gulf Coast; Daiquiri Raine of Pearl River, and Cassie Berry of Southwest Mississippi.
            Toby Bush of Pearl River will serve as head coach.
            Members of the North Division women’s team include Bridgett Griffin of Coahoma, Dajah McCarty of East Mississippi, Jessica Miles of Holmes, Ty-Nita Baker, Jasmine Hampton and Anna Lynn, all of Itawamba; Shanarika McCullum and Myiesha Stewart, both of Mississippi Delta; Talisa Boyd and Katie Garvin, both of Northeast Mississippi; and Monique Biggins and Nikki McChristian, both of Northwest Mississippi.
            Brian Alexander of Northeast Mississippi was selected head coach.
            Members of the South Division men’s squad include Jay Case and Joe Cunningham, both of Copiah-Lincoln; Aquill Baynard of East Central, Dominique Brown and Marcus Hurn, both of Hinds; J.J. Bolton and Donte Pittman, both of Jones County; JaMichael Hawkins and Darius Forest, both of Mississippi Gulf Coast; Frank Snow and Xavier Rimmer, both of Pearl River; and Donovan Ross of Southwest Mississippi.
            Richard Mathis of Pearl River serves as head coach.
            Members of the North Division men’s squad include Patrick Brown and Alex Thompson, both of Coahoma; Keyan Pittman and Micah Walker, both of East Mississippi; DeAndre Scott of Holmes, Quintin Lee and Tre Wells, both of Itawamba; Anthony McDonald of Mississippi Delta, Acie Vance and KeDorian Sullivan, both of Northeast Mississippi; and DeMarcus McVay and Charles Eaton, both of Northwest Mississippi.
            David Robbins of Northeast Mississippi will serve as head coach.
