Counselor on the Poplarville Campus

Pearl River Community College is now accepting employment applications for the position of Counselor on the Poplarville Campus.  This  is a full-time (12 months) professional position.  Requirements are:  A Master’s degree in counseling with a minimum of five years’ experience in academic  and career and technical counseling.  Applicants must possess skills in Microsoft Office. G Instructor of Adult Education (ABE/GED)

Pearl River Community College is now accepting applications for the position of G Instructor of Adult Education (ABE/GED). This is an 11 month, grant funded (1-year) position. Mandatory requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Education and two (2) or more years teaching experience. Desirable requirements include teacher certification, ability to teach various subjects and/or grade levels. This position will require travel to Adult Education classes within the Pearl River Community College district.

G Administrative Assistant to Adult Basic Education/GED

Pearl River Community College is now accepting applications for the position of G Administrative Assistant to Adult Basic Education/GED.  This is a full-time, 12 month, grant funded position.  Mandatory requirements include an Associate degree; must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Access, and Excel.  Desirable requirements include previous administrative assistant work experience.

G Dislocated Worker/ITA Coordinator

Pearl River Community College is now accepting applications for the grant-funded position of G Dislocated Worker/ ITA Coordinator (Poplarville Campus). Preferred requirements for applicants include a Master’s degree,  excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, experience working with the public, and strong problem-solving, organizational and customer service skills.
The primary focus of this position is to promote PRCC programs and services to customers of the WIN Job Center, to include both adults and dislocated workers (those who have lost employment through no fault of their own). Additionally, this position requires:

  • Coordination and tracking of ITA funds for all WIA students attending PRCC
  • Providing assistance to potential and current WIA students
  • Developing, coordinating, and executing job search skills workshops and classes
  • Working closely with CTE, ABE, and Workforce faculty and staff, and other agencies, including MDES, MDHS, and PRVO
  • Performing all grant administrative duties required for both the Workforce Coordinator grant and the WIN Office Technology grant
  • Serving as the representative for PRCC at all Rapid Response session in PRCC’s District
  • Regular travel to Columbia, Picayune and Hattiesburg WIN Job Centers is required
