Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa is the official honor society for two-year colleges, as recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges.  Any student who has completed at least 12 hours toward a degree, and who has achieved at least a 3.4 cumulative grade point average will be eligible for membership.

Mission

The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa shall be to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students.

Our chapter is Iota Mu, and an enrollment period established each semester for membership.  If a student misses the deadline, he/she will have to wait until the next enrollment period. Eligible students should check email for a notification which is sent out by Phi Theta Kappa International Headquarters inviting students to become members. The cost is $65.00 to join ($57.00 goes to international and regional dues; $8.00 stays with the local chapter).  Members who meet the requirements at various universities will be awarded scholarship money.  This varies from college to college.  At this time, students transferring to Mississippi State University and The University of Mississippi, and who have a 3.5 grade point average will be awarded $2,000.00 per semester for four semesters.
