Location(s) of Program: Forrest County Campus and Poplarville Campus

Brief Description of Program: The student will be prepared to install, service, troubleshoot, and perform general maintenance on commercial and residential heating and cooling systems. The program options include: a 45- hour technical certificate or a 60 hour AAS in Applied Science.

Essential Requirements of a person in this career field: Basic requirements for entering the HVAC industry include: Good work ethic, time management skills, highly motivated to succeed, desire to produce quality results, and willing to serving in a drug-free environment.

Possible Careers in this Program: After completing the HVAC program the students will have the skills to be a HVAC mechanic, installer, and duct designer.

Possible earnings of jobs in these career field: The average wage for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers was $45,000.00 or $22.00 per hour in year 2017.

Mission of Program: The mission of the HVAC program is to provide the students with sellable skills and knowledge that would enable them to financially provide for their families.

Goals of Program: The goal of the HVAC program is to train the student to be qualified to work in today’s HVAC job market.
