OF THE DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION?
It is a non-profit, tax-exempt

because of not having to meet rigid state law restrictions.

FUND FOR PRCC?
The Annual Fund consists
of contributions that can be expected on an annual basis. It is a pooling

can help guarantee its continued growth through enhancement of its achievements.

WHY
PRIVATE SUPPORT IS NEEDED
A growing college cannot
rest its future on the uncertainty of the state budget. We must look to
corporate benefactors, seek and cultivate the appreciative alumni and carefully
manage the community resources already contributing significantly to the
College.
Pearl River College is a
source of educated people and new ideas - both essential to a sound economy
and a free society. By supporting Pearl River through private gifts, donors
are making an investment that will be handsomely repaid in the ever-increasing
quality of PRCC students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Pearl River College's highest
priority is people. That is why this campaign is oriented to the needs
of the people: to increase faculty development; to assist students; to
retain tools and facilities that are essential if students and faculty
are to do their best work.
As Pearl River looks to its
future, it turns to thoughtful and concerned individuals to help fashion
a yet stronger institution. It is our hope that all those whose lives have
been touched by PRCC will want to participate in the Annual Fund. Some
might be motivated by a commitment to learning and a careful assessment
of what Pearl River can accomplish with additional resources. Others will
be motivated by their love and loyalty of this special place.
Despite continuing funding
needs, Pearl River College has met the challenge and established a reputation
for quality education. Few stocks would have appreciated as much as your
stock in your alma mater has over the years. Now we need your help to further
our accomplishments.
The Annual Fund is the opportunity
for an annual investment in the future of Pearl River and the people it
serves. It is a pooling of resources from alumni and other friends that
enable the College to expand offerings and to enrich its many worthwhile
programs.
Through Annual Fund gifts
and pledges, those concerned with the welfare of Pearl River can help guarantee
continued growth through enhancement of our achievements. The Annual Fund
includes all alumni gifts and non-alumni gifts to the Pearl River College
Development Foundation that are unrestricted or designated for various
departments or programs which will be allocated on a college-wide basis
where the need is greatest.
Contributions may be made
of gifts such as cash or securities, gifts in trust with reservation of
income to donors, or a transfer of property (such as real estate). Gifts
are tax deductible as provided by law.
HOW
YOUR GIFT CAN HELP
It is true that tax dollars
support Pearl River Community College. It is also true that no College
ever became great with public funding alone. All major colleges conduct
fund raising annually. Pearl River College wants to be the best educational
institution of its kind in the State of Mississippi. We are definitely
on the road of success but your help will guarantee that our destination
will remain the same.
YOUR PRIVATE GIFT CAN:
1. Enhance the academic
quality of students through scholarships;
2. Preserve the cultural,
historical, and ecological background of the community and the college;
3. Improve teaching through
special faculty development grants;
4. Advance competitive efforts
in athletics;
5. Purchase supplies and
equipment to enhance classroom instruction;
6. Build special facilities.
