About the Program
The Utility Lineman Technology Program is a modular program designed to prepare workers for electrical power transmission and distribution industry. Students can pursue a two year associate in applied science degree or a certificate of proficiency.
Career Opportunities in the Field
The need for skilled electrical utility workers in South Mississippi and the United States is expanding. Department of Labor statistics project over the next 5-10 years, this industry stands to lose more than half of its workforce from workers retiring. The average pay on a line crew ranges from $12-$30 per hour depending on job responsibilities, personal abilities, and experience.
