River splits at Co-Lin

WESSON — Pearl River split with Copiah-Lincoln in MACJC South Division men’s and women’s basketball action here Thursday to wrap the 2012-2013 regular season.
            The 19th-ranked Wildcats avenged their 83-69 loss to the Wolfpack on Jan. 28 in Poplarville with a lopsided 77-62 victory, while the Lady Wildcats ended its season with a 60-42 setback despite outscoring host Co-Lin 28-24 in the second half.

River splits with Jones

POPLARVILLE — Pearl River split with rival Jones County in MACJC South Division men’s and women’s basketball action here Monday with the 17th-ranked Wildcats falling 76-74 in overtime, while the Lady Wildcats avenged Jan. 24's loss to the Lady Bobcats with a convincing 83-71 victory.

River bombs Carey JV 83-57

            POPLARVILLE — The 17th-ranked Pearl River Wildcats demolished William Carey University’s junior varsity here Wednesday taking a lopsided 83-57 victory in Shivers Gymnasium.
            PRCC improved to 18-3 overall, while WCU-JV dropped to 4-7.

River swept at Southwest

SUMMIT — Pearl River Community College was swept by Southwest Mississippi in MACJC South Division women’s and men’s basketball action here Monday with the Lady Wildcats falling 59-50 and the 19th-ranked Wildcats taking a hard-fought 68-66 setback.
            PRCC’s women dropped to 5-12 overall and 3-7 in division play, while its men fell to 17-3 and 8-2. SMCC’s women improved to 13-8 and 6-4, while its men are now 14-7 and 7-3.

River splits with Perk

POPLARVILLE — Pearl River split with arch-rival Mississippi Gulf Coast in MACJC South Division men’s and women’s basketball action here Thursday with the 19th-ranked Wildcats taking a 65-53 victory, while the Lady Wildcats fell 45-41 despite an impressive second-half comeback run.
            PRCC’s men improved to 17-2 overall and a division-leading 8-1 mark, while its women dropped to 5-11 and 3-6. MGCCC’s men dropped to 13-7 and 4-5, while its women are now 15-5 and 6-3.

River splits with East Central

            POPLARVILLE — Pearl River split a pair of MACJC South Division men’s and women’s basketball match ups here Monday with the 21st-ranked Wildcats taking a dominating 75-58 victory, while the Lady Wildcats fell 71-66 despite an impressive comeback run in the second half.
            PRCC’s men improved to 16-2 overall and 7-1 in division play, while its women dropped to 5-10 and 3-5. ECCC’s men dropped to 1-17 and 1-6, while it women are now 6-12 and 3-4.
            The Wildcats remain atop the South Division’s men’s standings with the lopsided win.

Pearl River sweeps Hinds

UTICA — Pearl River swept rival Hinds in women’s and men’s MACJC South Division basketball action here Thursday with the Lady Wildcats taking a 67-64 victory, while the Wildcats were 80-70 winners.
            PRCC’s women improved to 6-9 overall and 3-4 in division play, while its 21st-ranked men are now 15-2 and 6-1. HCC’s women are now 2-16 and 1-6, while its men are 11-7 and 2-5.
            In the women’s game, the two teams battled to a 35-35 stalemate at the intermission before The River outscored its hosts 32-29 in the second half to take the three-point victory.

Co-Lin stuns Pearl River

POPLARVILLE — Copiah-Lincoln steam rolled Pearl River in men’s and women’s MACJC South Division basketball action here Monday bringing the 25th-ranked Wildcats’ 10-game winning streak to a stunning end via an 83-69 victory, while the Lady Wildcats fell 67-49.
