River splits with Delta

            MOORHEAD — Pearl River Community College split with Mississippi Delta in women’s and men’s MACJC non-division basketball action here Thursday with the Lady Wildcats falling 61-45, while the Wildcats picked up their 10th win of the season via a 62-50 victory.
            PRCC’s women dropped to 4-6 overall, while its men improved to 10-1. MDCC’s women improved to 6-4, while its men are now 3-7.
            On Nov. 12 in Shivers Gym in Poplarville, the Lady Wildcats were 59-55 losers to the Lady Trojans, while the Wildcats took a 71-57 victory.

Wildcats open new year with win over Badger JV

            MOBILE, Ala. — Pearl River Community College’s Wildcats opened the new year with a convincing 76-48 shellacking of the Spring Hill College (Ala.) junior varsity squad here Tuesday.
            The Wildcats were improved to 9-1 overall with the victory.
            Pearl River led 38-17 at the intermission before outscoring the host Badgers 38-31 in the second half to take the lopsided 28-point victory.

River splits at East Central

DECATUR — Pearl River Community College split with East Central in MACJC women’s and men’s South Division basketball action here Monday with the Lady Wildcats falling 67-41, while the Wildcat squad was a convincing 81-66 winner.
            PRCC women dropped to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in division play, while its men improved to 7-1 and 2-0. ECC, which opened its South Division schedule against The River, saw its women improve to 3-6 and 1-0; while its men remain winless at 0-9 and 0-1.

Pearl River sweeps Hinds in South Division openers

            POPLARVILLE — Pearl River Community College kicked off its MACJC South Division schedule here Thursday with a pair of convincing victories over rival Hinds.
            The Lady Wildcats pulled out a 71-59 win to improve to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in league play, while the Wildcats saw freshman Jeremy Hollimon hit a career-high 30 points that spurred a 64-55 win to improve to 6-1 and 1-0.
            Hinds, on the other hand, saw its women drop to 1-7 and 0-1, while its men are now 6-2 and 0-1.

PRCC splits at Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. — Pearl River Community College split with Baton Rouge (La.) in men’s and women’s basketball action here Monday with the Lady Wildcats suffering a lopsided 63-41 defeat, while the Wildcat squad were 62-60 winners over the host Bears.

PRCC’s women dropped to 2-4 overall, while its men improved to 5-1. BRCC’s women are now 4-2, while its men are 3-7.

In the women’s game, the Lady Bears led 41-30 at the intermission before outscoring The River 22-11 in the second half to take the 22-point victory.

River splits at Holmes

GOODMAN — Pearl River Community College split with Holmes in MACJC men’s and women’s non-division basketball action here Thursday with the Wildcats picking up their first loss of the season via a 52-50 setback, while the Lady Wildcats were 70-60 winners over the host Lady Bulldogs.

PRCC’s men dropped to 4-1 overall, while its women improved to 2-3. HCC’s men are now 4-1, while its women are now 3-2.

In the men’s game, the Bulldogs led 33-23 at the break, but the Wildcats bounced back to take a 27-19 advantage in the second half only to come up three points shy of victory.

POPLARVILLE — Pearl River Community College split with Mississippi Delta in MACJC men’s and women’s non-division basketball action here Monday with the Wildcats taking a 71-57 victory, while the Lady Wildcats fell 59-55 for their third straight loss.

Through four games, PRCC’s men remain unbeaten at 4-0, while its women are 1-3. MDCC’s men dropped to 2-3, while its women are now 3-2.

River splits at Delgado

NEW ORLEANS, La. — Pearl River Community College split with Delgado here Thursday in NJCAA men’s and women’s basketball action with the Wildcats taking a 71-57 victory over the host Dolphins, while the Lady Wildcats fell 46-42 for their second straight setback.

Through three games, PRCC’s men remain unbeaten at 3-0, while its women are 1-2. DCC’s men dropped to 2-2, while its women are now 1-2.

In the men’s game, Pearl River led 37-32 at the break before outscoring Delgado 34-25 in the second half to take the double-digit win.

PRCC splits with Holmes

POPLARVILLE — Pearl River Community College split with rival Holmes in Shivers Gym here Monday in MACJC non-division women’s and men’s basketball action with the Lady Wildcats falling 54-51, while the Wildcat squad pulled off a convincing 72-58 victory.

PRCC’s women evened their overall mark at 1-1, while its men remain unbeaten at 2-0. Both Holmes teams are now 2-1.
