Lady Wildcats whip Louisiana College JV to stay unbeaten

POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College got another balanced scoring effort in a one-sided 77-53 victory over the Louisiana College junior varsity in women’s basketball action Wednesday night at M.R. White Coliseum.

The Lady Wildcats remained undefeated after their first three games of the season.

PRCC had 10 players make it onto the scoresheet, with four reaching double figures, led by freshman Shauntelle Adams (Brandon), who had 13 points off the bench.

Pearl River got off to a good start, leading 15-4 before LC got going. PRCC led 19-11 after the first quarter and 37-28 at halftime. The Lady Wildcats used an 18-0 run in the third quarter to pull away.

Sophomores Kyla Malone (Oxford) and Charisma Walker (Brandon) each had 12 points, and redshirt sophomore Rah Franklin added 10 points.

Sophomore Tyasia Willis (Camden) had 8 rebounds off the bench, and freshman Gabby Brown (Fort Walton Beach, Fla.) had 5 steals and 4 assists to go with her 9-point effort.

The Lady Wildcats will play again on Nov. 16, when they travel to face LSU-Eunice in a 6 p.m. tipoff.
