River sweeps Jones County in South Division soccer

           POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River Community College swept arch-rival Jones County women’s and men’s MACJC South Division soccer action here Tuesday with the Lady Wildcats handing the 10th-ranked Lady Bobcats their first loss of the season with a 1-0 decision, while the Wildcats were 3-1 winners in the nightcap game.
            PRCC’s women improved to 8-3 overall and 5-1 in division play, while its men are now 7-3 and 5-1. JCJC’s women dropped to 11-1 and 5-0, while its men are now 8-2-1 and 5-1.

River sweeps Hinds

            POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River Community College swept Hinds in MACJC women’s and men’s non-division soccer action here Wednesday with the Lady Wildcats taking a 4-1 double-overtime victory, while the Wildcats shutout the visiting Eagles 6-0.
            Sophomore forward Christina Gentry out of Horn Lake High booted three goals to propel the Lady Wildcats to victory, while sophomore Mike Allizzo of Ocean Springs High had four goals in the men’s win.

Pearl River sweeps Meridian

            POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River Community College swept Meridian MACJC women’s and men’s South Division soccer action here Tuesday with the Lady Wildcats taking a 3-2 double-overtime victory, while the Wildcats were 4-1 victors.
            The twin bill was originally scheduled for Saturday, but was postponed due to rain.
            PRCC’s women improved to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in division play, while its men are now 5-3 and 4-1. The visiting Lady Eagles dropped to 7-2 and 3-2, while the Eagles are 4-6 and 2-3.

River sweeps Southwest

            SUMMIT --- Pearl River Community College dominated rival Southwest Mississippi in women’s and men’s MACJC South Division soccer action here Wednesday with a pair of lopsided shutouts.
The Lady Wildcats were 8-0 winners, while the Wildcats took a 6-1 victory. PRCC’s women improved to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in division play, while its men are now 4-3 and 3-1. SMCC’s women dropped to 0-7 and 0-3, while its men are 0-6-1 and 0-3.

River sweeps Co-Lin

            POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River Community College dominated rival Copiah-Lincoln in women’s and men’s MACJC South Division soccer action here Saturday with a pair of lopsided shutouts.
The Lady Wildcats were 7-0 winners, while the Wildcats took an 8-0 victory. PRCC’s women improved to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in division play, while its men are now 3-3 and 2-1. CLCC’s women dropped to 0-7 and 0-2, while its men are 1-7 and 0-2.

River splits with Perk

            POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River Community College split with arch-rival Mississippi Gulf Coast in women’s and men’s MACJC South Division soccer action here Tuesday with the Lady Wildcats taking an impressive 4-0 victory, while the Wildcats fell 1-0 off a second-half free kick.
            PRCC’s women improved to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in division play, while its men are now 2-3 and 1-1. MGCCC’s women are now 1-3 land 1-1, while its men are 2-2 and 2-0.

Pearl River splits with Jones in MACJC South Division openers

            ELLISVILLE --- Pearl River Community College split with Jones County in women’s and men’s MACJC South Division soccer openers here Saturday with the Lady Wildcats falling 2-0, while the Wildcats were 4-0 winner behind a four-goal effort from Mike Allizzo.
            PRCC’s women dropped to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in division play, while its men are now 2-2 abd 1-0. JCJC’s women are now 4-0 and 1-0, while its men are 2-1 and 0-1.

PRCC women drop two straight

            POPLARVILLE --- After Pearl River Community College’s 14th-ranked Lady Wildcat soccer team opened it season with a stunning 8-0 MACJC non-division victory over Northwest Mississippi, it has since dropped two straight.
            PRCC fell to eighth-ranked Darton (Ga.) 4-1 on Friday in Poplarville before second-ranked East Florida State took a shocking 6-0 shutout win on the Mississippi Gulf Coast campus in Perkinston on Saturday.
            The River women are now 1-2 overall.

Pearl River soccer squads open season with 8-0, 2-0 shutouts over Northwest

         POPLARVILLE --- Pearl River Community College’s reigning MACJC and Region 23 women’s and men’s soccer champions opened their 2013 season in grand style here Saturday with a pair of MACJC non-division shutouts over Northwest Mississippi in Wildcat Stadium.
            The Lady Wildcats pulled off a dominating 8-0 victory, while the River men were 2-0 winners. Both PRCC squads are now 1-0 on the year.
