PRCC men ready for division after blowout win at Delgado

Pearl River Community College rolled out to a big early lead and never looked back Monday night in an 83-50 victory over Delgado at New Orleans.

The Wildcats improved to 9-1 overall in their final non-South Division game of the season, winning their seventh straight. Delgado remained winless at 0-14.

PRCC trailed by six points early in the contest, but quickly asserted itself and owned a 39-25 halftime lead. The Wildcats put the pedal to the metal in the second half, leading by as many as 34 points.

For the third game in a row, freshman Jamani Glover (Mobile, Ala.) led Pearl River, scoring 18 points. Freshman Ryan McRaney (Sumrall) added 14 points on 4 of 8 shooting from 3-point range, and Cameron Douglas grabbed 8 rebounds.

As a team, the Wildcats shot 50.8 percent from the field (30 of 59), including 11 of 22 from behind the arc, and they had a 40-15 advantage on the boards.

PRCC returns home at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to resume South Division play against Southwest. Both the Wildcats and Bears are 1-0 in division; Southwest, the defending MACJC Tournament state champion, is 7-3 overall.
