POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College athletes will have a new look when the 2018-19 school year begins in August.
PRCC has announced that the school has signed an exclusive partnership with sports retail giant Under Armour, which will provide gear for all of the Wildcats sports teams.
“In this partnership, Pearl River athletics will be attired exclusively in Under Armour gear,” said PRCC athletic director Jeff Long. “That includes player uniforms, footwear, practice wear and coaches’ apparel.”
In the past, each sport at PRCC has contracted its own apparel deal, and the new contract with Under Armour will take that task out of the coaches’ hands and streamline the process of clothing the Wildcat teams.
“These partnerships have become beneficial to the institution and the apparel company,” Long said. “Even for smaller schools, this has become the norm.
“Under Armour products have an outstanding reputation for quality and customer service, and we’re proud to be an official Under Armour school.”
Among the changes Wildcat fans will see are some new contemporary looks to various uniforms and other team apparel.
Long said the school began phasing in new uniforms in January, and the transition to all-Under Armour gear will be complete beginning with the 2018 men’s and women’s soccer seasons.
