Wildcats place two on MACJC All-State Team

anna grace cooleyilyssa eastonPearl River Community College had two members of the 2017 Wildcat softball team honored with selection to the MACJC All-State Team, which was released recently.

Freshman second baseman Ilyssa Easton was named to the MACJC All-State First Team, while freshman centerfielder Anna Grace Cooley earned second-team honors.

Easton, a product of East Central High School, led PRCC in most offensive categories this past season, with a .377 batting average, five home runs, 30 RBIs, 28 runs and 14 stolen bases. She started every game this season at second base.

Cooley, who prepped at George County High, also started every game for the Wildcats in centerfield, batting .375, with 11 RBIs, 27 runs and 12 stolen bases.

Pearl River was 19-23 overall this season.
