Wildcats stay unbeaten with victory at Bishop State

POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College kept its record perfect, ending the month of November with a 76-66 win over Bishop State (Ala.) in men’s basketball action Thursday night at Mobile, Ala.

The Wildcats (6-0) got another standout performance from freshman Eric Thornton Jr. (Jackson), who dropped in 26 points to lead the Wildcats. He added 3 assists and 2 rebounds.

Pearl River won it at the foul line, converting 26 of 35 free throws to just 8 of 18 for Bishop State (2-7). 

PRCC was 6 of 17 from 3-point range, led by freshman Cedric Brim Jr. (Tupelo), who was 3 of 6 from beyond the arc and finished with 13 points. Freshman Jonas James III (Jackson) added 12 points and had 7 assists.

The Wildcats are back in action at 7:30 p.m. Monday, opening South Division play at home against Meridian in the final game of the 2017 portion of the schedule. The game will be livestreamed on prccmedia.com.
