HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Pearl River Community College’s Early Childhood Academy provided new reading material for potential future Wildcats through a partnership with a young local author.
As part of its community outreach through Pearl River Community College’s ECA, PRCC helped to provide children at TJ’s Learning Center with a free copy of Noah Harris’ book, “Successville” Wednesday. Harris is a graduate of Oak Grove High School and is en route to his Successville as he attends Harvard University so that he may be equipped to have a profound impact on the world.
Successville is a compelling story that encourages children to dream big and reach for their goals in life by valuing their education. This story teaches that a great education is key to everything you want to achieve, and a great education begins in the classroom by paying attention, listening, and working hard.
The mission of the ECA is to provide ongoing high-quality technical assistance and professional development to child care providers and families through resource and referral services to ensure a nurturing learning environment that promotes readiness. Locally, PRCC’s ECA offers various fun and educational events on campus and in the community for local children.
