Surgical tech information session set

  The surgical technology program at Pearl River Community College’s Forrest County Center will hold a come-and-go information session from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, in the Allied Health Building, Room 119.
  The deadline for applying for the January 2015 class is Oct. 1.
  Surgical technology is a two-year program that prepares students to work in hospital operating and delivery rooms, surgeons’ offices and sterile processing departments.

Annie Moses Band tickets available

  POPLARVILLE - Tickets remain available for the Sept. 15 performance of the Annie Moses Band at the Brownstone Center for the Arts in Poplarville.
  The 7 p.m. concert is the first of five Premier Performance hosted by Pearl River Community College in 2014-15.
  The Annie Moses Band’s The Art of American Music features favorites from Aaron Copland, George Gershwin and other quintessential American legends. The show fuses Appalachian bluegrass, Irish fiddle, beloved classical themes and roots music to create a beautiful and transporting concert experience.
  Reserved tickets are $25 for orchestra level and $20 for balcony. Season tickets for all five Premier Performance Events are available through Sept. 15 for $70 for orchestra level seating.
  Tickets can be purchased online at brownpapertickets.com or by calling the Brownstone Center box office at 601-403-1180 between 9 and 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Lil' Wildcat Cheerleader Clinic set for Oct. 11

  POPLARVILLE - The Pearl River Community College cheerleaders will host the PRCC Lil’ Wildcat Cheerleader Clinic on Saturday, Oct. 11.
  The clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Shivers Gym on campus. Kids from 2 to 14 years old can attend. The non-refundable $25 registration fee includes a t-shirt, pizza and drink.
  Participants will learn cheers and dances and perform at the Homecoming Tailgating Carnival at 1 p.m. on the football practice field. After their performance, they can enjoy games, fun jumps, activities and live music. The little cheerleaders will also be recognized duing the Homecoming football game which begins at 2 p.m.
  Registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 3 (late registration is $30 and will not guarantee a t-shirt). For a registration form, contact Candace Harper at 601 403-1193. Scholarship fund fish fry planned

  The Forrest/Lamar County Chapter of the Pearl River Community College Alumni Association will hold a fish fry on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the South Mississippi Electric Power Association on Mississippi 42 West in Hattiesburg.
  Dine-in or take-out plates are $8 and will be available from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Proceeds will go toward scholarships for PRCC students from Forrest and Lamar counties.
