Technical Intern IV (SRF 2878)
Created after 9-11-2001, the Department of Homeland Security consolidated numerous agencies' data centers for central management. CSRA plays a key role in the Department's IT integration strategy through its Data Center-1 program. CSRA's DC-1 program is committed to delivering an efficient, responsive, and mature data center operation through excellence in service delivery, performance, and continual service improvement.
In a student worker capacity under direct supervision, assists in the research and assessment of business goals, objectives and needs to align solutions with business initiatives.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: HS or equivalent + 2 yrs related experience
Rotate through various data center departments. Learning Operations & Maintenance (Service Desk, Infrastructure Hardware and Cabling, Network, Platform Services (Wintel,Unix), Asset and Configuration Mgmt, Project Mgmt, Tools and Development, Security) of the DC1 Data Center.
Must Have Skills: (1) Enrolled in Computer Science or Engineering Degree Program, (2) Logical and Analytical Thinker, (3) Good listening, writing, and verbal skills, (4) Not afraid to jump in and help resolve problems, (5) Willing to learn
Nice to Have Skills: (1) MS Office skills, (2) MS Project skills, (3) MS Visio skills, (4) basic understanding of computer platforms, operating systems, and/or networking principles
