Mr. Christopher Flynn
Instructor of Speech, Instructor of Drama
Mr. Flynn began his theatre career at a young age; helping out backstage at Harrison Central High School while still attending Junior high. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Performance/Direction while performing in productions such as The Lion in Winter, The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail, Dracula, and The Pirates of Penzance. Mr. Flynn then went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting. Arms and the Man, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Godspell, and The Homecoming were among his credits there. Directorial credits during this period included Terra Nova, Gaslight, and Honey in the Rock; an outdoor production about the founding of the state of West Virginia at Theatre West Virginia.
Acting professionally for regional theatres, Mr. Flynn performed in productions of South Pacific, Annie Get Your Gun, Guys and Dolls, and A Christmas Carol to name a few. Following a brief stint in Los Angeles, where his only credit was performing in the Rod Stewart video for “Lost in You”, he returned to the East Coast and began a divergent career as a Theatre Technician/Contractor. Paramount Parks, Jean Ann Ryan Productions, River City Scenic, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines were among his clients.
In 2006, while working for the training department at Northrop Grumman Ship Systems in Gulfport, MS, Mr. Flynn helped develop the first Composite Apprentice Training Program in the country. Also at this time, he earned a Master of Science degree in Speech Communication. The addition of this degree enabled him to realize his dream of teaching Speech and Theatre.
