

All individuals who meet the scholastic and other enrollment standards established by the Pearl River Community College district are eligible for the program. The student should possess mechanical ability and interest, as well as the desire to understand mechanical design and function.
The program, which covers
two years, has the following objectives: to provide students with
organized learning experiences such as lectures correlated with actual
shop training, to equip them with the necessary knowledge and experience
to diagnose and repair automotive problems.
The program requires a high
school diploma or a GED. The student must also take the ACT to be
