Curriculum

PRCC utilizes the very same equipment as can be found in auto repair shops across the country.

All individuals who meet the scholastic and other enrollment standards established by the Pearl River Community College district are eligible for the program.  The student should possess mechanical ability and interest, as well as the desire to understand mechanical design and function.

The program, which covers two years, has the following objectives:  to provide students with organized learning experiences such as lectures correlated with actual shop training, to equip them with the necessary knowledge and experience to diagnose and repair automotive problems.
PRCC prepares the student with the latest technology.
The program requires a high school diploma or a GED.  The student must also take the ACT to be eligible.  The curriculum and the course description can be found at the Pearl River Community College online catalog (2000-2002).  Use your back button to return to this page.
