The Rewards of the Masonry Field

The current demand for brick, block and stonemasonry craftpersons assures the student of a job on graduation.  The national average for an apprentice Brick Mason is $12.65 per hour, but the demand in this area is far greater than the national one, so graduating students can expect to earn between $16 and $20 per hour.  The masonry field is 76,000 craftpersons short of the current need, and that shortage is expected to increase.

The field is physically demanding, and it takes a dedicated person to meet the challenges, but the rewards are great, both financially and in terms of personal satisfaction.

The national annual average pay for a brick mason with five years experience is more than $32,000, the national average is much greater, over $42,000 per year.  The student can expect even higher earnings according to his level of craftmanship.
