The Web Development Technology
curriculum is designed as a two-year program of study to prepare the student
for entry-level employment in the information technology field.
Instruction includes training in website design, e-commerce development,
Internet programming and server administration. Students will also acquire
skills using microcomputers, networks, and mid-range computer systems.
An Associate of Applied Science
degree will be earned upon successful completion of the program.
Careers include web development specialist, webmaster, and Internet programming.
Employment Outlook:
As reliance on the Internet and e-commerce continues to grow, the job outlook
in web design and development should be very good. Public and private
organizations of all sizes are looking for experts who can create, implement,
support and manage their websites.
Admission Requirements:
Applicants for Web Development
Technology must have the following documents submitted:
1. PRCC Application
for Admission;
2. An official transcript
from an accredited high school indicating date of graduation or GED transcript
indicating passing;
3. Official transcript from
every college attended (if applicable);
4. ACT scores.
