Job Description/Overview:  The Practical Nursing Program is seeking to hire a full-time faculty member at the Poplarville Campus.  The position requires both lecture and clinical duties.

Director/Instructor Massage Therapy
Location:  Forrest County Center
Status:  Full-time (12-months) / Professional
Educational Requirements/Work Experience: 
The Program Director/Instructor must be a licensed massage therapy professional who:

  • has a minimum of three years of massage experience
  • has experience teaching adults preferred
  • holds a Mississippi State Massage Therapy Board teaching license preferred
  • A.A.S or A.A. degree or higher preferred
  • has knowledge of education methods and administration as well as current Mississippi State Board of Massage Therapy accreditation procedures and certification procedures preferred

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE COORDINATOR
Status:  FT / Professional / Grant Funded Position
Location:  This position will operate mainly within the Hattiesburg/Petal area, but sometimes travel to the Poplarville campus will be required.
Overview:  The Technical Assistance Coordinator for the Resource and Referral Network is responsible for developing and providing state-of-the-art training and professional development for Resource and Referral Network staff, child care providers, parents and children.  They will collaborate with a variety of state agencies and child care providers to provide technical assistance and services to support continuous improvement to transition to comprehensive centers. 
Preferred candidates will have extensive knowledge and experience working in early education, experience working with adults or leading professional development sessions, possess above average computer and organizational skills, be self-motivated and exercise sound, independent judgement in a dynamic environment with conflicting priorities requiring a high degree of teamwork, flexibility, discretion, diplomacy, and tact. 
Educational Requirements/Work Experience:   A Master’s Degree in Early Education or related field and a minimum of three related years of experience in Early Childhood OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Education and a minimum of four related years of experience in Early Childhood.  Applicants must be able to pass a background check.  CLASS Certification and LETRS training is preferred, but not required.

The individual must have a thorough understanding of the use of technology as a supplemental instructional tool, express an aspiration toward life-long learning, and have an awareness of working as a member of a departmental team. The position requires the instruction of content, the possession of effective leadership skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and the ability to coordinate and schedule class/clinical environments.
Status:  Full-Time (10 months)
Educational/Experience Requirements:  Qualified applicants must hold a graduate degree with a major in nursing (concentration in nursing education preferred) from a regionally accredited institution; preferably doctorate in related field, hold an unencumbered Mississippi RN license, have a minimum of five (5) years acute care nursing experience, have a minimum of three (3) years of formal (nursing) teaching experience in an ADN or higher degree program, and hold certification as a nurse educator or willingness to seek certification within two (2) years of employment.

Child Development Lab School Assistant
Location:  Poplarville

Financial Aid Specialist
Location:  Poplarville
Overview:  

  • Assist students and families with the process of applying for student financial assistance, including all federal, institution, and private sources available through the College.
  • Assist in the evaluation for financial aid applications and determination of eligibility for financial assistance.
  • Coordinate the front office and assists students and families coming in the office.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, paper flow, and prepare files for applicants of financial aid.
  • Attend ongoing required staff development and training, which includes internal departmental training, as well as state and federal training opportunities (may require travel).
  • Perform other responsibilities as determined by the Director of Financial Aid.
  • Ability and willingness to get along with others, and to assist students in securing financial assistance.

Experience:  Experience with federally funded government programs, and the ability to implement new procedures in the federal application process.

Surgical Technology Instructor
Location:  Forrest County Center
Job Description/Overview:  The Surgical Technology Program is seeking to build an adjunct applicant pool.  Potential adjuncts will be needed to work 8 – 12 hours per week beginning August 2020.  Adjunct positions will involve instructing Surgical Technology Program didactic and lab-based courses as well as supervising students in the clinical setting.
