    What is the SMALL BUSINESS RESOURCE CENTER 
    The SBRC is a non-profit professional management counseling service that offers one-stop assistance to small businesses by providing a wide variety of information and guidance.  The SBRC is designed to deliver up-to-date counseling, training and technical assistance in all aspects of small business management.  SBRC services include, but are not limited to, assisting small business with financial, marketing, production, organization and technical problems.  Special SBRC programs and economic development activities include international trade assistance, technical assistance, procurement assistance and rural development.  The center also makes special efforts to reach minority members of socially and economically disadvantaged groups, veterans, women and the disabled. 

    How can the SBRC Help your business? 
    The SBRC can offer at a minimal or no cost to you , the following services: 

       
      o In-depth counseling assistance to insure more successful start up of new enterprises and to strengthen existing firms. 

      o Business plans and loans packaging assistance. 

      o Assistance to minorities, women, veterans, the handicapped, exporters, inventors, research and innovation. 

      o Referral system linking other small business assistance organizations 


    Resource library 
    The SBRC offers a resource library to individuals or business interested in marketing research, planning a business or new trades in the business world.  

    Facts about small business: 
     

      o 99% of all businesses in the country are considered small businesses 
      o There are more than 44,000 small businesses in Mississippi 
      o Small businesses employ one half of the workers in our economy 
      o Small businesses produce three or four times as many new jobs, new products and new services as large firms 
      o One of every three businesses fail in the first year of operation 
      o Nine of every ten businesses fail in the first five years of operation 


    "How to get a Small Business Loan" free workshop Agenda: 
    Topics covered will include business organization types, business plans, financial statements and loan qualification criteria.
