POPLARVILLE - Pearl River Community College is offering a basic masonry course at night during the spring 2016 semester.
The class will meet from 5 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, starting Jan. 12 and ending April 28, at the masonry shop on the Poplarville campus.
The course offers a masonry tender/helper certificate, which includes applications for 10-hour OSHA certification, basic lift truck OSHA certification and NCCER credentials in core curriculum and masonry Level 1 modules (introduction to masonry, tools and equipment and safety).
POPLARVILLE - Registration is on-going for eight courses Pearl River Community College is offering in a one-week mini-term.
Classes will meet all day Monday through Friday, Dec. 14-18, with final exams on Saturday, Dec. 19.
Courses on the Poplarville campus include preschool and primary development, language and literacy development and world literature I.
Forrest County Center classes include English composition I, world literature I, Spanish I, music appreciation and introduction to sociology.
Students can register as late as 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14.
Pearl River Community College will sponsor an evening pipefitting course in Hattiesburg during the spring semester.
The class, which costs $250, will meet from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Jan. 11 through April 28, at the Forrest County Center welding shop.
The course offers the industry recognized certificate in pipefitting, including applications for 10-hour OSHA certification, basic lift truck operator OSHA certification and NCCER credentials in core curriculum’s introductory craft skills, Level I and Level II pipefitting.

The classes will meet from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 11 through April 27, at the welding shop in the Career Education Building on the Poplarville campus.
Pearl River Community College will host a five-week manufacturing skills program in 2016 at the Lowery A. Woodall Advanced Technology Center in Hattiesburg.
PRCC is offering the Pinebelt Works Basic Manufacturing Skills Certification Program in conjunction with the Area Development Partnership and the Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District.
POPLARVILLE - The Christmas holiday season starts Thursday, Dec. 3, at Pearl River Community College.
The Department of Fine Arts and Communication will present Christmas at the Movies at 7 p..m. Dec. 3 at the Brownstone Center for the Arts.
The event will include a red carpet at the entrance to the center and favorite songs from Christmas movies.
PRCC drama students, instrumental and vocal musicians and the String of Pearls dancers will be featured.
HATTIESBURG - The humanities and science can feed off one another in more ways than commonly thought.
That was the theme of Dr. Terri Ruckel’s presentation “Poetry in the Biology Classroom: What the Humanities Can Do for STEM” as Pearl River Community College’s Humanities Teacher of the Year.
