Financial Aid

Paying for college can be a major process. This is why numerous students turn to federal and state funding to help defray the expenses. Grants are available to students who meet the criteria. A recent study indicated as many as 72% of PRCC students are going to college, at least partially, with help from state and federal grants.

Unlike student loans, grants do not have to be repaid. They are the state and federal government’s way of educating people who are not financially able to pay for college without help.ptk

To qualify for any federal grant or loan, any state grant, or foundation scholarships, you must first fill out a FAFSA (Federal Student Aid Application). You may go online for this, or you can pick up the application at any PRCC campus or center. Follow the instructions. The priority deadline for federal financial aid is March 15 of each year.

For more information about grants, loans or scholarships, visit PRCC’s financial aid web site.

Do not forget about Mississippi’s MTAG (Mississippi Resident Tuition Assistance Grant) or the MESG (Mississippi Eminent Scholars Grant). Both can assist you in paying for your education.
