No one would buy (or rent) a new home, sight unseen, and we don’t expect you to choose where you’ll spend the next two years of your life without visiting the PRCC campus or one of the PRCC centers.
PRCC’s main campus is located in Poplarville, 35 miles south of Hattiesburg, 45 miles northwest of Gulfport and 70 miles northeast of New Orleans. The campus is situated on 300 acres of rolling hills on the west side of town. With many historic buildings on campus, the college has a decidedly “Old South” look with huge oak trees framing columned buildings.

Even though Hurricane Katrina inflicted more than $50 million in damages, the campus is well on its way toward recovery. The recent addition of the large Centennial Courtyard in the middle of campus, a new Center for Career Education building on the north side of the campus, a remodeled stadium and plans on the table for a new 3,000 seat indoor sports arena and a new 1,500 seat performing arts center, all make PRCC a place of learning, activity, and fun.
The Forrest County Center, located on Highway 49 in south Hattiesburg, offers academic, allied health, technical and career programs. Although no housing is provided, the campus offers a coffee shop, fully staffed and equipped library, campus book store, Campus Police, as well as large, well-equipped classrooms and laboratories, not to mention a stellar Allied Health program with nationally-ranked programs.
The Hancock Center, located on Highway 90 in Waveland was opened in 2004, just prior to Hurricane Katrina. Although the center was completely destroyed, classes began a month after the storm in trailers. Since then, the center has been repaired and reopened. It features classrooms and a well-equipped library. Plans are underway to add additional classes including a welding program. The center also includes an Aviation Maintenance Technology program at nearby Stennis International Airport.
PRCC offers night classes throughout its six-county supporting district, including at Stennis Space Center, in Picayune, Columbia, Prentiss, Petal and other locations as needed.
PRCC also offers business and industry specialized training out of its Woodall Advanced Technology Center, located in the Forrest County Industrial Complex on Highway 49 South.
