14 PRCC soccer standouts cop post-season honors

POPLARVILLE — Fourteen women’s and men’s soccer standouts from Pearl River Community College have earned post-season accolades for their 2013 championship seasons.
            Lady Wildcats named All-Region 23 include sophomore goalkeeper Hannah McCarty of Tupleo High, freshman forward-midfielder Karly Mitchell of Poplarville High, and freshman forward-midfielder Kacy Mixon of East Central High; while Wildcat honorees include freshman forward Mike Allizzo of Ocean Springs High, sophomore forward-midfielder Garrett Head of Oak Grove High, and freshman midfielder-defender T.J. Sharp of Ocean Springs High.
            PRCC women’s squad members named All-MACJC include sophomore midfielder Charlotte Crisp out of Cheam High in London, England, freshman forward Chistine Gentry of Horn Lake High, sophomore centerback Jessica Guillot of Pearl River Central High, and sophomore midfielder Presley Stiglets of Oak Grove High. Men’s squad All-MACJC honorees include freshman forward Austin Douglas of Gulfport High, freshman midfielder Dylan Garrett of Vancleave High, sophomore midfielder Tyler Hatch of East Central High, and freshman midfielder Ricky Henry out of Escambia High in Pensacola, Fla.
            Both Pearl River squads achieved unprecedent success during the 2013 season, winning Region 23, MACJC, and MACJC South Division championships before ending their respective seasons with losses in the NJCAA women’s District H playoffs in Poplarville and NJCAA men’s District playoffs in Tyler, Tex.
            The Lady Wildcats wrapped their season at 12-2, while the Wildcats finished at 14-1.
            Jack Byrd coaches the PRCC women’s team, while Paul Martin is the men’s coach.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
