Exhibit features Picayune women's works

POPLARVILLE – The works of a mother-daughter team of artists from Picayune are featured in an exhibit at Pearl River Community College.
Annette Lestremau and her daughter, Shannon Catoire, have both taken courses from PRCC art instructor Charleen Null.
The exhibit includes Lestremau’s sketches and wood carvings and Catoire’s photographs.
Lestremau won first place in the Pearl River County Artists League Art Show in April with a colored pencil sketch of a sea gull. She also took home first, second and third place awards in the colored pencil division of the Picayune Knights of Columbus Art Show in September 2016.
Catoire displayed and sold a number of pelican portraits in the Pearl River County Arts League Spring Art Show and at Bags and Bows in Bay St. Louis. The Photography Forum published her Pelican in Flight photo in its May 2017 edition as an honorable mention winner in its competition. Her silhouette photo of a seagull against a Gulf Coast sunset was the cover art for the October 2016 edition of Today in Mississippi, the publication for Electric Cooperatives of Mississippi.
Their works are on exhibit in the gallery on the first floor of Moody Hall through Dec. 1.
