Hall elected homecoming queen

POPLARVILLE – A sophomore from Purvis will be crowned queen at Pearl River Community College during Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 29.
Ellen Hall was elected by the PRCC student body to reign over the annual celebration.
Also elected to the court were sophomore maids Cassady Compretta of Bay St. Louis and Keeli Clark of Franklinton, La.; Forrest County Center sophomore maid Alexis Pickens of Hattiesburg, Hancock Center maid Kamri Jones of Bay St. Louis, freshman maids Brittany Bright of Laurel, Takeaslynn Gardner of Prentiss and Joyce Lumpkin of Carriere and Forrest County Center freshman maid Hailey Holland of Columbia.
Hall and her court will be featured in an on-campus parade and pep rally on Thursday, Oct. 27, before a luncheon honoring their mothers. On Homecoming Day, they will mingle with alumni and guests before the Alumni Luncheon and attend a Pre-Coronation Tea Party for children at 12 p.m. in the lobby of the Brownstone Center.
The women will be presented and Hall will be crowned during halftime of the 2 p.m. game against Co-Lin.
Hall, 19, is the daughter of Rett and Robbie Hall of Purvis. A graduate of Purvis High School, she was captain of the Dazzlers Dance Team and nominated class clown. At PRCC, she is a two-year member of the String of Pearls dance team, served as a ROAR orientation peer leader and was a freshman maid in the 2015 homecoming court. She plans to pursue a nursing degree at William Carey University.
Compretta is the 19-year-old daughter of Rob and Joni Compretta of Bay St. Louis. She graduated from Bay High School where she was a cheerleader, member of the dance team and Miss Bay High. She is a two-year member of both the String of Pearls and River Road showchoir and was a maid in the 2015 court. She plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi to major in broadcast journalism.
The 19-year-old daughter of Willie and Jean Clark of Franklinton, Clark plans to study physical therapy at Louisiana State University. She is a graduate of Pine Junior-Senior High School where she was a member of Beta Club and the Raiderettes dance team for four years, was elected to the homecoming court three years and participated in volleyball and track.
Pickens, also 19, is the daughter of Pamela and Albert Pickens Jr. of Hattiesburg. A graduate of Oak Grove High Schol, she was a basketball cheerleader and ran cross country on the track team. At PRCC, she is sophomore class president. She plans to study forensic science at the University of Tennessee.
A graduate of Hancock High School, Jones is the 21 year-old daughter of Bradi Wyman and Nathaniel Jones, both of Bay St. Louis. She is a president of the Hancock Center Student Government Association. She plans to study psychology, possibly at the University of Houston.
Bright, 18, is the daughter of James and Gayle Bright of Laurel. She was a member of the showchoir at West Jones High School where she graduated. At PRCC, she sings in the women’s choir and River Road showchoir. She plans to transfer to the PRCC Forrest County Center to study physical therapy assisting technology.
Gardner, 18, is the daughter of Carrie Hammond Walker of Prentiss and Ray Gardner. She graduated from Prentiss High School where she was a member of the Beta Club, Student Council and the Bullettes dance team. She plans to study business at Jackson State University and try out for the Prancing Jsette dance team.
A graduate of Pearl River Central High School, Lumpkin is the 18-year-old daughter of Yamileth Lumpkin of Carriere and the late Lorance Lumpkin. In high school, she was in show choir and student council and was a cheerleader, mascot and student section leader. She is studying cosmetology at PRCC and is part of the River Rowdies cheering section. She plans to own a hair salon.
Holland, 18, is the daughter of Marcus and Angela Holland of Columbia. She graduated from Prentiss Christian Academy where she was a member of Mu Alpha Theta, SLICE and National Honor Society. She is the membership officer for the Collegiate DECA chapter at the Forrest County Center. She plans to open a business and continue her modeling career.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
