'Pearls' win 16th championship

  POPLARVILLE -The String of Pearls won the team’s 16th national championship at the American Dance and Drill Team competition March 20-21 near Dallas.
  The dancers won the championship in the pom category and were first runner-up in both jazz and hip-hop competition.
  There was a one point difference between PRCC and Blinn College for the jazz championship. This is the Pearls’ highest finish and best score in this category. McLennan College was champion in the hip-hop category.
  The String of Pearls was the only team to enter all three categories.
  Co-captain Regan al-Jabi of Carriere placed third in solo competition.
  Kara Fleming is the Pearls’ instructor.

The  String of Pearls dance team from Pearl River Community College won its 16th national championship at the American Dance and Drill Team competition March 20-21 near Dallas.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
