PRCC Honors Lecture Series features Dr. Browning

Dr Dan Browning speaks at FCC Honors Lecture series Nov 2021

Pearl River Community College’s Dr. William Lewis Honors Institute hosted its second Faculty Lecture Series Tuesday at the Forrest County Campus. Faculty and students attended the lecture, presented by Dr. Dan Browning, Instructor of History, Religion, and Geography.

Dr. Browning’s topic: “All Roads Lead to … Risk: Disease Avoidance on Roman Roads by St. Paul; A Geographic Information System Analysis.”

Dr. Browning was introduced by freshman Jackson Bowering of Petal, a member of the Honors Council.

Student members of the 2021 Honors Council include Bowering, Ben Hartley, Shui Lin, Peyton Scanlon, Jericho Gardner, Kristen Johnson, Allyna Pytleski and Genesis Williams.

Following the lecture, the Mississippi Department of Health hosted a free Covid-19 Vaccine Pop-up Clinic facilitated by Dr. Brent Lindley.

Nov. 17: Honors Research Symposium, 1 p.m., Thad Cochran Center, the University of Southern Mississippi.

Feb. 1, 2022: Honors Faculty Lecture Series, Heather Peerboom (12:15 p.m., Multipurpose Room).

Each community college is asked to provide name tags for their Board members, administration, and staff attending the conference.
