PRCC women blank, men tie ICC in road games

FULTON - Pearl River Community College''s Lady Wildcats handed Itawamba''s Lady Indians a 2-0 shutout here Friday in MACJC non-division soccer action, while the Wildcat squad battled the host Indians to a two-overtime stalemate 2-2.PRCC''s women improved to 6-1-1 overall, while ICC dropped to 4-8. The River''s men are now 7-2-1, while Itawamba is 4-7-1.In the women''s game, the two teams battled to a scoreless 0-0 tie at the intermission, but Jordan Organ of Forrest County AHS and Heather Smith of Oak Grove High kicked second-half goals to seal the win for Pearl River.In the men''s game, PRCC and ICC were knotted at 1-1 at the break and saw an indentical deadlock in the second half to send things into overtime. The two OT periods were scoreless.Jacob Foulon of Pearl River Central and Jamarius Gray of Hattiesburg High scored for the Wildcats, while Collin Burchfield and Anthony Delgado recorded goals for the Indians.PRCC returns to action Monday with a road trip to non-division foe East Central in Decatur, then returns to MACJC South Division action against Southwest Mississippi in Summit. Gametimes are 1 p.m. (women) and 3 p.m. (men). The Lady Wildcats took a 6-0 shutout over SMCC Sept. 11 in Poplarville, while the Wildcats were 4-0 winners over the Bears.
