Spring workforce courses taking applications

  POPLARVILLE – Pearl River Community College will offer four workforce training classes at night during the spring semester in Poplarville.
  Pipefitting will be taught from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, starting Jan. 9 and ending April 26 at the welding shop.
  The course offers the industry recognized certificate in pipefitting, including applications for 10-hour OSHA certification, basic lift truck operator OSHA certification and NCCER credentials in introductory craft skills and pipefitting modules Level I and II. Cost is $250.
  Students must be 18 before the class starts and must provide welding shield, gloves and cap, steel-toed shoes, long sleeve shirt, ear plugs and safety glasses.
  To reserve a space, students must have a CRC Certificate rated silver or better, clean drug screen at student’s expense, receipt from PRCC Business Office for payment in full and a completed application.   • Basic carpentry will be offered from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, beginning Jan. 9 and ending April 19.
  Cost is $150. The course will offer applications for 10-hour OSHA certification, basic lift truck operator OSHA certification and basic carpentry skills.
  Applicants must be 18 before class starts and provide an application, clean drug screen results at their expense and receipt from the PRCC business office for full payment.
  • Welding will be taught from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, beginning Jan. 9 and ending April 26.

  Applicants must be 18 before class starts and provide an application, clean drug screen results at their expense and receipt from the PRCC business office for full payment. Students must provide welding shield, gloves and cap, steel-toed shoes, long sleeve shirt, ear plugs and safety glasses.
  • Basic and advanced masonry will be offered from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting Jan. 10 and ending April 27.
  Cost is $150. The course will offer industry recognized certificates as masonry tender/apprentice entry level with applications for 10-hour OSHA certification, basic lift truck operator OSHA certification and NCCER credentials in introductory craft skills and masonry Level I and II modules.
  Applicants must be 18 before class starts and provide an application, clean drug screen results at their expense and receipt from the PRCC business office for full payment. Students must provide steel-toed boots and safety glasses.

Each community college president is asked to bring two (2) wrapped door prizes, minimum value of $50 each. We will have a station set up at the conference for you to drop off the door prizes.
