Meet the 2008-2009 Cheerleaders

Pearl River Community College cheerleaders recently gathered to sign their scholarships for 2008_09. Sophomores on the squad are:

  • Brandi Nicole Burge, 19, of McNeill. The daughter of Byron and Renee Burge, she is a nursing major and was a 2007-08 cheerleader. She also is a member of River Road showchoir, Pearl River Singers choir and River Navigators recruiting team. She plans to further her education at William Carey University or the University of South Alabama.
  • Allison Bynum, 20, of Picayune. She is a graduate of Picayune Memorial High School and the daughter of Mike and Jan Bynum.
  • Curtis Falgout, 23, of Poplarville. A graduate of South Terrebonne High School, Falgout is the son of John and Collette Falgout and an education/coaching major. He plans to attend Louisiana State University.
  • Allison Mary Imhoff, 19, of Picayune. The daughter of Janelle and Rick Imhoff, she is a graduate of Picayune Memorial High School and a radiology major.
  • Kayla Kelly, 20, of Picayune. A graduate of Picayune Memorial High School, she is the daughter of Clay Kelly and Lisa Adams and was a PRCC cheerleader last year.
  • Erika Anne McNeese, 19, of Poplarville. The daughter of Darrell and Melissa Darden and David McNeese, she is a nursing major.
  • Dana Weems, 19, of Carriere. A graduate of Pearl River Central High School, she is the daughter of Jay and Denise Weems.

  Freshman cheerleaders are:

  • Kayla Nicole Bounds, 18, of Picayune. The daughter of Joey and Lucinda Bounds, she is a graduate of Picayune Memorial High School and a business major.
  • Lesli Joanna Burnham, 18, of Seminary. A graduate of Seminary High School, she is the daughter of Joey and Sherry Burnham and a general studies major.
  • Marilyn Elizabeth Hayes, 18, of Lumberton. The daughter of Margaret and Ricky Hayes, she is a graduate of Poplarville High School and plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi after PRCC.
  • Gavin Todd Lossett, 17, of Carriere. The son of Ray and Lisa Lossett, he is a Pearl River Central High School graduate who wants to pursue a career in public communications.
  • Taran Lunsford, 19, of Picayune. A graduate of Picayune Memorial High School, she is the daughter of Cynthia Tarantino and a business major. She plans to attend USM and hopes to be a veterinarian.
  • Chancy Lauran McLemore, 18, of Picayune. The daughter of Marilyn and Scott McLemore, she is a graduate of Picayune Memorial High School and a radiology major.
  • Kristen Meyers, 18, of Poplarville. A graduate of A. Beka Christian Academy, she is the daughter of Waldon and Tricia Myers and a tourism major. She plans to attend USM to study casino entertainment management.
  • Kevin Michael Miller, 20, of Angie, La. A graduate of Bogalusa High School, he is the son of Karl and Brenda Miller and an electronics major. He plans to attend USM.
  • Cody Paul Moreau, 19, of Sandy Hook. The son of Mike and Danita Moreau, he is a graduate of Columbia Academy and a coaching/education major. He plans to attend LSU.
  • Shelby Oglesbee, 17, of Picayune. The daughter of Laurie Oglesbee, she is a graduate of Picayune Memorial High School and plans to study nursing.
  • Chloe Alexis Palma, 18, of Picayune. A graduate of Picayune Memorial High School, she is the daughter of Debbi Goff and Tony Palma and a business major. She plans to further her education in Arkansas to study cosmetology.
  • Anthony “Tony” B. Rice, 18, of Sumrall. The son of Teresa Rice, he is a graduate of Sumrall High School and plans to study biology.
  • Jessica Marie Smith, 18, of Picayune. A graduate of Picayune Memorial High School, she is the daughter of Jim and Kaye Smith and is a radiology major.
  • Lauren Angela Stanford, 17, of Wiggins. The daughter of Jennifer Landry and Crisper Stanford, she is a graduate of Christian Collegiate Academy and a nursing major.
  • Brittany Lynn Stewart, 18, of Picayune. A graduate of Picayune Memorial High School, she is the daughter of Chuck and Patti Stewart and a radiology major.
  • Taylor Thompson, 18, of Lumberton. The daughter of Cindy and Rickey Thompson, she is a graduate of Purvis High School majoring in physical therapy. She plans to attend USM.
  • Blake N. Woodward, 18, of Sandy Hool. A graduate of Columbia Academy, his is the son of Tommy and Sonia Woodward. He plans to attend LSU to study electrical engineering.

  Marilyn McLemore and her daughter, Chastity McLemore, are the PRCC cheerleader sponsors.

 

The Pearl River Community College cheerleaders attended the UCA College Camp in Tuscaloosa, Ala., where they learned new material and practiced on team bonding, stunting, tumbling, etc.

They received Superior in 2008 Chant, 2008 Sideline, 2008 Cheer and Superior in Overall Evaluations.

According to PRCC coaches Marilyn and Chastity McLemore, "They did very well and are ready for the upcoming sports season."
