To Have and To Hold (page 18) is a humerous look at one woman's battle with her mother's decision to remarry, while No Meat on Fridays examines the Catholic tradition of the same name. Both pieces are by Rochelle Broome, from Poplarville. She is a Sophomore, majoring in Art Education.
Becky Coco, a Carriere native shares two poems, Love and A Peon in Nature's Brilliant Path (page 25). Becky is a Sophomore majoring in Broadcast Journalism.
Ronn Hague spins a yarn about royal intreague in All The King's Horses and All The King's Men (page 12), he puts an unusual twist on his essay, The Lord of the Dance (page 30), and he offers two poems, Shadows (page 17), and Don (page 29). Ronn lives in Carriere, Mississippi, and is a Freshman majoring in Psychology.
Mother Nature's Magic (page 28) is a fresh look at the simplicity of a sunrise, written by Anna-Claire Morgan. She also shares three poems with her readers, Come With Me, She Carries A Torch, and Change (page 23). Anna-Claire, a native of Bogalusa, Louisiana, is a sophomore majoring in English.
Shannon O'Neal takes a new look at comic-strip heros with his tale of the super Melvin in Mighty Melvin From MMMM (page 14). Shannon lives in Picayune, Mississippi, and is a Freshman majoring in Communications.
From Columbia, Mississippi, Karen Rankin submits a poem about the injustice of war in The Cotton Plant (page 27). Karen is a Sophomore majoring in Nursing.
Two poems that look at the difference age makes in a woman of the night make Jennifer Robert's submissions, Take and Whiskey Sours (page 26) an interesting read. Jennifer is a native of Picayune, Mississippi, and is a Sophomore majoring in Paralegal Studies.
Leonard Scardino, Jr. writes a poem of love in Life (page 27). He is from Columbia and is a Sophomore majoring in Computer Science.
Travis Shuler takes a radical slant on growing up in his short story, Michael (page 10). Travis lives in Carriere, Mississippi, and is an aspiring musician.
A Freshman majoring in Journalism, Becky Spiers offers four poems, Aphrodite , Clock, Beautiful Lies, and The Caretaker's Sin (all page 22) Becky is a native of Carriere, Mississippi.
John L. Strauser writes of his love for coffee in Ode To Coffee, his love for his sweetheart in My Valentine, and his love for his calling in The Poet (page 21). In his short story, The Man, John compares the brutality of man and beast. John is from Bay St. Louis, and is a Sophomore majoring in Pre-med.
Four entertaining poems look at four distinct subjects: Love, Hate, Tomorrow, and Friends (page 24). Thomas Treadaway, a Computer Engineering major and a Freshman, lives in Picayune, Mississippi.
The Value of a Smile (page 8), Doris Zuniga's non-fiction short story entry is both delightful and entertaining. Doris, a transplanted Cajun, lives in McNeil, Mississippi, and she is a Freshman majoring in English with a minor in Spanish.
