Huff Hall

.

.. Huff Hall, built in 1919 on the site of the original brick structure that housed the Pearl River County Agricultural High School, is the oldest existing building on the PRCC campus and one of  the oldest buildings on any community college campus in Mississippi.  It is, and has been since its construction, a men's dormitory.  Named after the third principal of the agricultural high school and first President of Pearl River College, James Andrew Huff, the building is a three story brick structure of 10,145 square feet with living space for eighty-seven men and an apartment for a head resident and family.

Huff Hall was built near the foundation of the first residence hall/school building which burned prior to Huff Hall's construction.  During Pearl River's era as a boarding agricultural high school, Huff was known as the boys dorm.  Still in use, it sits in the center of the campus, facing College Drive.  Huff Hall is located between the Computer Services building and Jefferson Davis Hall.

The impressive size and design of Huff make it a distinguishing landmark at PRCC...impressive enough that it recently appeared on the cover of the Mississippi Supervisor magazine. (left)
