Moody Hall
In 1926, five years after PRCC began offering college level courses, the first college building was constructed.  A three story structure with an attached gym/auditorium, it housed college administration offices and college classrooms.  The building now serves as classroom space for the Fine Arts and Communications Department.  The bottom floor houses music classrooms, music practice rooms and offices.  The second and third floors serve as classrooms for both music and communications classes.  The gym was converted to an auditorium where Fine Arts Department and theater programs were held.  When Hurrican Katrina hit on August 29, 2005, the roof over the stage area was peeled back.  The auditorium was declared unsafe for occupancy.  Present plans are to demolish the auditorium wing, leaving the front of the building.  Moody Hall is the state's oldest building specifically constructed for junior college purposes.  Although PRCC's campus (as well as other community college campuses in the state) has older buildings, they were built for the agricultural high school phase of the institution.

Moody Hall, with 22, 359 square feet of space was the largest building on campus until the technology building was constructed in 1966.

Moody is located on College Drive between the Band Hall and Jefferson Davis Hall and across the street from Huff Hall.
