White
Hall
Built
in 1928, White Hall sits in the southeast corner of the campus on Wildcat
Drive immediately across from the Ted J. Alexander Administration Building
and next door to Marion Hall. With 12,600 square feet, the building
will accommodate forty seven men and a head resident.
White
Hall was originally designed to house college girls, but in 2006 was converted
into a men's dormitory. In 1935, for a brief period, White Hall served
as the town's hospital while the old hospital (original court house built
in 1892) was torn down. The rebuilt hospital served until the mid-1950s
when a new hospital was built on the north end of town. White Hall
is named after former governor Hugh White. |
