"Dobie" Holden Stadium
Named
after PRCC's head coach from 1948-1966, Thomas Dobie Holden, Holden Stadium
was built in 1966. Holden Stadium replaced the old stadium (intramural/band
practice field) where "Dobie" coached many winning teams during his eighteen
years at Pearl River College. He amassed a 140-43-7 record (240-74-15
lifetime record), winning seven state championships and ranking in the
nation's top 10 list almost every year.
Holden
Stadium has a seating capacity of 5,000 and contains a press box and a
storage area for equipment. In 1988 the lighting was improved with
the installation of metal halide bulbs.
Holden
Stadium is located on Stadium Drive across the street from the baseball
stadium, and next to the maintenance facility.
