General Physical Education Activities:
This course is designed to give students a modern concept of physical education and recreation by developing body skills. Furthermore, you will experience and understand the importance of physical activity as part of a lifestyle of wellness. You must come to the Wellness Center and check in during the first week of classes or as soon as you add this class to your schedule. You will be given a syllabus and an orientation upon your first visit to the Wellness Center. This class also gives you access to all the classes below but space is limited. Sign-up at the front desk of the Wellness Center if you are interested in joining any of the classes below.

Zumba: Involves dance and aerobic movements preformed to energetic music.  The choreography incorporates Latin rhythms including Merengue, Reggaeton, Cumbia, Salsa, Samba, Flamenca, and Bachata, as well as Hip Hop, Bollywood, Disco, and Pop music.

Zumba Gold: Uses Latin and international rhythms created in the original Zumba program, and bring them to the BEGINNER participant, or older adult.

Zumba Toning: Zumba dance that incorporates lightweight maraca-like Toning Sticks, enhances sense of rhythm and coordination, while toning target zones, including arms, core and lower body.

Popup: A full body workout that will challenge your body and deliver real results.  Each class incorporates cordio and toning intervals that are focused on strengthening and lengthening all of the muscles in your body.  PopUp will include workouts such as Tabata, Cardio Kickboxing, Ab Blaster and more.  Low impact modifications will be given when needed.

Pilates on the Ball: Improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body.  It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core and improving coordination and balance.  Exercises are performed on a stability ball.

Spin: A moderate to high intensity indoor bike class. Includes fun (loud) music with disco and glow in the dark lights. Most of the class is done indoors on the bike but may include other activities in the wellness center or on the outdoor walking track. The days and times listed are lead by an instructor but you can ask about virtual spin classes that can be done at any time of the day. The virtual spin classes are on a big screen and will take you on a virtual bike ride through Ireland, Las Vegas, or the Rocky Mountains (12 available seats in each section). Kung Fu: A moderate to high intensity workout that will tighten and tone the body, improve cardiovascular fitness, increase flexibility, and introduce the student to basic self-defense concepts and techniques. Monday & Wednesday 3:30pm
Yoga: Beginners Hatha Yoga. This class focuses on introducing basic yoga poses to students by teaching proper alignment and breathing techniques for relaxation. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday 6:00pm
SliverSneakers: is the nation’s leading exercise program for active, older adults, focused on fitness, friends and fun.  All ages invited, workout includes standing and sitting exercises that promote healthy aging. Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 10:00am 
Super Circuit: Circuit training is an excellent way to improve mobility, strength and stamina. The circuit training includes cardio and strength exercises that are completed one exercise after another. Monday & Wednesday 4:15pm
Relaxation: Can reduce stress symptoms and help you enjoy a better quality of life.  This is a calming class to ease away tensions.  It includes deep breathing, resting for 30 minutes. Monday & Wednesday 12:00pm
